| The Riz is a collection of old friends and family members that finally decided to get together to create and write some music. Tim Cali has been playing his brand of solo funkacoustic for a few years now, drawing off influences such as Martin Sexton, Keller Williams, Ani Difranco, Bob Dylan and countless other bluesmen. Tim started amassing a nice little collection of his own original material as well as he honed his craft playing local bars and private parties throughout Central Illinois and the Western Suburbs of Chicago. During these solo shows, Tim would often bring up some friends of his to join him at the end of the night. Mike Nolan would lend a hand with percussion, Jefe would on occasions play guitar or keys, his brother Jeff Cali would accompany him on lead guitar from time to time and Face would either play mandolin or bass. After many of these performances had come and gone, they started asking themselves why they hadn't formed a band yet. It was a reasonable question. So is The Riz. Friends and Family members coming together to do what they love most. Hopefully, along the way, they'll find others that enjoy what they do just as much. |
